The dictionary defines "bliss" as "perfect happiness; great joy" and is there a better way to describe how line dancing makes us feel?
The Biggest Little Iconic Summer Stompdown will be the largest line dance event that Reno, Nevada has seen in the last decade, and it is sure to bring you nothing but bliss! Join us at the Grand Sierra Resort for 3 days of workshops by award-winning instructors and choreographers, 3 ballrooms*, and over 8,000 square feet of dance floor*. Your weekend of BLISS begins on Thursday, August 14th, 2025 with pre-party festivities, including a beach party at The Pool, then open dancing the rest of the night. Enjoy a full day of workshops on Friday, August 15th and Saturday, August 16th, then end each evening with theme nights and more open dancing until the sun comes up (if you can survive that long!). Saturday night will also include a no-host cocktail party and a raffle! We will conclude the event on Sunday, August 17th with half-day workshops, then dancing the floor away.
In addition, BLISS will be a NEW qualifying event for the United States Line Dance Choreography Competition (USLDCC) for the 2025-2026 season, so if you're ready to dive into the choreography world, this will be the perfect opportunity for you. BLISS will also host its own, separate choreography competition for any attendees who are interested in joining our teaching staff for the following year! More info to come on competitions.
Lastly, there will be something for everyone in the family to do at the Grand Sierra Resort, so if they're not line dancing, they can spend their time bowling, eating at the numerous fabulous restaurants, golfing, enjoying the arcade, gambling, and so much more. You won't want to miss this! It's time to take a break from the world and immerse yourself in a weekend getaway of pure BLISS!

The ORIGINS
OF BLISS
It all began in the summer of 2023 when Dustin, Sierra, and their friend Calvin--who was visiting from Southern California--were talking about dance events they've all attended. Dustin and Sierra were sharing struggles of their personal dance journeys and discussing how Reno needed more opportunities for line dancing when the thought of hosting their own dance event began creeping its way into their thoughts. They joked about it, but deep down (and with Calvin's encouragement), it felt like the perfect thing for them to do. More line dance events were needed on the west coast, and what better place than Reno? Thus began hours of brainstorming and researching all of the logistics, including countless discussions regarding the name of the event (this was admittedly the most difficult part).
They finally landed on the Biggest Little Iconic Summer Stompdown... also known as BLISS. Why? Because line dancing is pure BLISS! Not only does the name capture the essence of why we all line dance, it also incorporates Reno's nickname of the "Biggest Little City in the World," while paying homage to Dustin's epic, award-winning line dance, Iconic. BLISS was the perfect acronym for what we hope will become a legendary and joyful annual dance event!
Having an official name made it feel real, but now it was time for the actual work to begin. Sierra and Dustin formed the Nevada Line Dance Association, and were using all of their remaining free time--outside of working, teaching, and choreographing line dances--to ensure that BLISS would be a huge success. After endless hours preparing for the event, we are finally here today... ready for the world to come dance with us at the debut of BLISS, August 14th - 17th of 2025.
